COMPILE ON 16th INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON THE EUROPEAN ENERGY MARKET

What: 16th International Conference on the European Energy Market (EEM19)

The EEM is a well-established conference in Europe, which brings together international representatives from science, industry and politics from different fields to discuss a wide range of issues related to energy markets. These include not only topics concerning methodological aspects of modelling, such as mathematical formulations and solution approaches, but also those related to market design, regulatory and climate policies. Additionally, the conference offers a platform for engaging discussions related to policies and challenges in the energy sector.

This year the conference was hosted by the Laboratory of Energy Policy (LEST), Faculty of Electrical Engineering, University of Ljubljana.

EEM19 Special Sessions were dedicated to the Horizon H2020 projects where COMPILE was presented by Mr. Tomi Medved (University of Ljubljana), Mr. Gašper Artač (Petrol d.d.), Mr. Boris Pavlin (ZEZ) and Mr. Stanislas d’Herbemont (REScoop.eu). Mr. Medved gave the general overview of the project. It was followed by the presentation of pilot site Luče. Mr. Artač highlighted its background, goals, progress and as well the challenges. Mr. Pavlin described the ZEZ’s role in COMPILE project and crowdfunding which has been applied for pilot site Križevci and was the first successful crowdfunding in Croatia. To wrap it up, Mr. d’Herbemont introduced the energy cooperatives across Europe and its development.
